MacBee is an association of beekeepers whose purpose is research, protection, improvement and promotion of the native honey bee (Apis mellifera macedonica) in the Republic of Macedonia, our association conducts activities for protection and promotion of the traditional methods of breeding honey bees and obtaining their products.
Since 2010, MacBee performed its research activities in seven experimental apiaries in Bogdanci, Dihovo, Dracevo, Mrshevci and Sveti Nikole. The research is conducting the same breeding and testing protocols on 84 honey bee colonies.
The activities undertaken by MacBee include include 0rganizing theoretical and practical trainings, managing study tours abroad, providing access and exchange of literature.
